General Description
Positive displacement Liquifram type chemical metering pumps are required for LMI Roytronic Excel Series AD. Models that are relevant are CE or UL/CUL certified. While the pumps are operating, the output volume must be able to be adjusted from zero to the maximum capacity.
Drive Assembly
All moving components of the pump drive must be completely enclosed. Quick connect connectors measuring at least 0.110 inches (2.79 mm) in width must be included with electronic pulser installations. The best defense against chemical spills is to keep electronics inside of chemically resistant enclosures. With maximum pressure and speed, the maximum amount of electrical power that can be consumed in an hour is 25 watts. There can be no more than 10 pounds (4.75 kg) in the pump.
Pump Controls
Series AD2 metering pumps shall have a liquid crystal display to indicate stroke speed of the pump and theoretical flow. Control and adjustment for stroke frequency shall be by means of a tactile keypad. Adjustment for stroke length shall be by means of a readily accessible dial knob. A pulse indicator light shall flash green between strokes when pumping. The pump shall be equipped with an on/off button and a low level float switch Input. When the low level sensor registers empty, the low level indicator light shall turn red and the pump shall turn off when it registers an empty level.
Pressure Relief
Models with the LMI 4-Function Valve installed on a FastPrime or AutoPrime Liquid End are recommended to provide automatic pressure relief.
Materials of Construction
See Specifications tab. Chemical metering pump housing shall be of chemically resistant glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic. All exposed fasteners shall be stainless steel. Chemical metering pump valves shall be ball type. Valves shall be serviceable by replacing the cartridge valve assembly.
Check Valve, Tubing, Connections
A total of 16 ft (4.8 m) of tubing shall be provided per pump complete with compressing connections (on models with tubing connections). A foot valve with integral one piece strainer shall be provided for the suction line (on non-high viscosity models with tubing connections), and an injection check/back pressure valve with 1/2″ NPT male connection for the injection point (on models with tubing connections).
