Cyanide Removal
We can advise on solutions for cyanide removal. Q. How is cyanide removed from wastewater? A. Below is a cyanide destruction application. Cyanide has been removed by oxidation. It is usually controlled first by adjusting the pH up to 11-12 and adding sodium hypochlorite. This converts poisonous cyanide to a less toxic cyanate state. In the second stage, the pH is lowered to 9-10 and more sodium hypochlorite is added to reduce cyanate to harmless carbonate and nitrogen.

Q. How can I control my chlorine bleach demand with inconsistent wastewater quality? A. Use of Oxidation-Reduction-Potential Controllers are readily available which will allow more bleach to be fed based on demand. The demand is measured by a change in redox potential (mV). Call us to help you!
