Biological Treatment
Anaerobic digestion is a complex biochemical process in which several groups of anaerobic and facultative organisms simultaneously assimilate and break down organic matter. Proper control of anaerobic sludge digestion is based on:
- food supply
- time and temperature
- mixing
- pH and alkalinity
- gas production
